The Kontron AM4140 can be used depending on the customizable in system configurations without MicroTCA carrier hub (MCH), to reduce development costs and development times. The long availability of processors until at least 2018 and the careful choice of components make for a high product life time. The integrated base for micro SDHC cards guarantees the independence of the terminable Flash devices. The Kontron AM4140 offers various options for booting the operating system, for example, from a micro SDHC card, the NOR Flash or by the soldered NAND Flash for particularly robust fair applications. For the new AdvancedMC processor module Kontron also offers a range of AMC systems. So, for example, the MicroTCA platform Kontron OM6060 can serve as entry platform, in order to operate the Kontron AM4120 with PCIe and SRIO point-to-point Fabrics together with the Kontron AM4901 MCH, ensure the Ethernet connectivity to all AdvancedMC slots. In this system, the Kontron AM4120 I/O cards and DSP cards with different processor modules can be combined.
The requirements are higher, the MicroTCA system Kontron OM6120 together with the SRIO MCH Kontron AM4904 SRIO connections provides up to 12 AMCs. Alternatively, 10GbE also can be used in combination with the high-end MCH Kontron AM4910. Together with the SRIO MCH Kontron AM4904, the system allows the switching of PCIe connections also. An operation with 2 MCH is also possible. The AdvancedMC processor module AM4140 will be available in November.
